Runway inspo: Double pinstripe

Saturday 16 April 2016

Topshop pinstripe duster coat, Topshop top (similar), Urban Outfitters pinstripe trousers,
Asos shoes, Urban Outfitters bag, vintage sunglasses

So this 'Runway inspo' segment is something I hope to incorporate frequently on my blog. It'll consist of myself remaking or interpreting current street style runway looks that are comfortable to wear on a day to day basis. I have so many ideas in mind after fashion week and I can't wait to share them!! This week's outfit was inspired by Ordinary People ss16 from New York's Menswear fashion week. Pinstripe has been everywhere lately from coats to shirts to trousers and I'm still not bored of it. In conjunction with the cut and shape of the item, pinstripe instantly causes a piece to have an element of androgyny and masculinity and I always feel a lot more comfortable yet creative and bold when I dress particularly more masculine (if we're humouring gender roles, that is) The double pinstripe in this instance allows the look to take on a sense of effortless put-togetherness. To stick with the theme of designer inspiration, I paired the look with my Asos slip-ons which are almost an exact replica for the Ports 1961 sneakers but a fraction of the price! My all time favourite look is pairing tailored items with trainers and these slip-ons are a great alternative for a dressier style of trainer. This is one of my favourite looks at the moment as I feel like it sums up my style pretty well, tailored yet remaining within the realms of street style.
